LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

FICS has developed a Leadership Development program intended to transform organizations on a deep level.  The program is aimed at leadership teams within an organization who participate in the program over the course of a year.  The program has 5 levels and with each level leaders develop standardized practices to pilot and put into place that improve practices, processes and engagement of staff. The foundation of the FICS philosophy of effective leadership is that great leadership stems from a facilitative approach to leadership.  FICS trains leaders to be great facilitators of the teams that they lead so that they engage staff, maximize resources and increase their own resilience. The FICS Leadership development program increases an organization’s overall effectiveness by providing the opportunity for leadership teams to discuss issues of importance, share best practices and build effective working relationships across the organization.

FICS has delivered the Leadership Development program to leadership teams in Canada and the Middle East.

Accreditation Program

ACCREDITATION PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT

Program specific and organizational Accreditation should take education programs and professions to the next level of success.  FICS has the expertise to develop and manage customized accreditation programs that meet the specific needs of a profession. Adhering to due diligence, FICS facilitates, researches and develops standards that support a culture of quality improvement. The process to develop the accreditation program includes involving experts representative of the entire profession to provide input and feedback on the accreditation program so that a standardized program is relevant, practical and reliable.  The ability of FICS to facilitate processes means that they can bring together diverse groups and opinions to develop an accreditation program of the highest quality, representative of the best practices in the profession while embedding a culture of continuous quality improvement.

Currently, FICS is developing and managing the Canadian Massage Therapy Council for Accreditation and providing accreditation management services to Humane Canada.

CQI

CQI - CONTINUOUS QUALITY IMPROVEMENT

The 21st Century workplace requires a culture committed to Continuous Quality Improvement more than ever before.  In this day in age when technology advancement is in overdrive and client/stakeholder expectations are higher than ever, the workplace that is committed to producing quality services and products that are client centred will be the sustainable workplace. Complex workplaces, however, require that everyone in an organization understands their role in the Continuous Quality Improvement roadmap.  It is not possible for a few leaders at the top of the organization to hold the card on quality.  It must be owned and operated by everyone in the organization in order for it to become a reality.

To create a culture of Continuous Quality Improvement leaders must first be trained in QI concepts; what they are, how they will benefit from a culture committed to QI and how the rest of the organization will thrive. They must then be trained in basic leadership effectiveness so that they can begin putting into place leadership practices that will support CQI practices among staff.  Once the leaders have been trained in the basic QI concepts and have put into place standardized, effective leadership practices, CQI training can begin within the departments of the organization.

FICS has developed a Quality Improvement Curriculum that is transformative when delivered to everyone in an organization.  Organizations have the option to train a group of staff to become certified FICS Quality Improvement trainers and then have those individuals train staff throughout the organization. Alternatively organizations can hire FICS educators to deliver the curriculum across the organization.

Our QI curriculum has been delivered successfully across 23 Primary Health Care facilities in Qatar by certified FICS QI Trainers.

FACILITATION

The key to transformational success is in the facilitation of process.  Highly effective facilitation brings together groups of people to achieve great results. Kathrina is a highly skilled facilitator who transfers her expertise through knowledgeable and skilled FICS associates to the staff, leaders and community of an organization. At the completion of any facilitated activity with an organization, the organization will be more efficient and more effective but they will also be left with a highly sustainable roster of performance and process tools and best practices that are embedded into day-to-day service and operations to ensure a high performing, high functioning and efficient organization. Examples of facilitated processes include:  Lean process analyses, operational planning, strategic planning, team building, etc.

Our facilitation services are delivered regularly to organizations in Canada and the Middle East.

Train the Trainer

TRAIN-THE-QUALITY-IMPROVEMENT TRAINER CERTIFICATION

FICS was founded on the development of quality education programs by seasoned educators.  The request to develop a high quality train-the trainer program came from FICS clients. The FICS Train-the-Quality Improvement Trainer (T3) certification program has 3 levels of certification. The program includes a combination of QI theory and practice.  Trainees in the program achieve a number of competencies to become FICS certified.  As the trainees progress through the 3 levels of certification they achieve more competencies needed to become effective trainers. A blended learning approach is used to train and support trainers including, pre-tests, self-assessments, face-to-face instruction, one-to-one internet support, peer reviews and videotaped assessments.  Once trainers have achieved Level 3 of the certification program they are able to deliver the entire QI curriculum.  The FICS philosophy of effective training is based on the fact that trainers need to have a balance of quality presentation and facilitation skills.
